  Job Description:            
    As requested by its client, Advoco is seeking a Lead Scheduler/Planner to work at it's clients US headquarters to support the engineering, procurement and construction of a gas turbine power plant.

As part of the project team, the position of Lead Scheduler/Planner will:
+develop and manage all aspects of the project engineering, procurement and construction schedule and cost structure.
+Responsible for the development and implementation of the project schedule to support pre-construction, construction and commissioning activities.
+Will ensure the schedule supports calculation of earned value for reporting of progress and forecasts.
+Responsible for the development and deployment of a cost structure to support project budgets, actuals, earned value and forecasts.
+Updates the schedule, project budgets, actuals, earned value and forecasts and is responsible for regular review and reporting to project management of progress and forecast.
+Reporting of schedule status, critical path, critical and near-critical activities and issues to project management and clients.
+Interfaces with 3rd parties as necessary to develop, integrate and report on their schedules to project management and client.
+Candidates should possess strong analytic skills in addition to strong communication skills.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION
+Minimum 10-years experience in engineering and construction working on energy projects. Construction and commissioning of gas turbine power plants a strong preference.
+BS in a related Engineering or Construction field.
+Strong understanding and ability to use Primavera P6 project scheduling software and methodologies, with analyzing and developing resource curves, performing levelized scheduling, etc.
+In depth understanding and experience with regards to progress measurement techniques, in particular with piping and electrical scopes.
+On site construction experience for industrial type plants. Gas turbine power plant experience is a big plus
+Ability to manage multiple tasks within a project from conception to completion.
+Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
+Ability to clearly present the company and business concepts to all third parties.
+Experience with project risk management and mitigation.
+Familiarity with contracting procedures, project contracts and negotiation, engineering practices, construction techniques, plant technologies, and regulatory issues required.
+Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
+Self-starter and comfortable in an environment with relatively lean staff.
+Knowledge of database, project management, spreadsheet and word processing software, electronic mail, graphics, technical diagrams, flow charts, etc.

This position is initially located in our Client's United States headquarters in Orlando, Florida for approx. 8-months with subsequent deployment to North Carolina for 12-months.

This is a contract position.

The positions are open immediately.
