Senior Scheduler / Planner

The role of the Senior Planner (Commissioning) requires a good grounding in engineering work processes, planning and schedule analysis and GMP project management requirements. The Senior Planner provides key support to the facility manager and project delivery team in collating, analyzing and reporting against commissioning, validation and punch list clearance progress, accurately reflecting deliverable achievements, forecast future achievements and identifying potential opportunities and challenges. Reporting to the Site Manager with a functional line of responsibility to the Project Controls Manager, working in collaboration with engineering, and construction, the Senior Planner is an important team player in achieving our challenging goals.

The candidate for this position must be a self-starter, able to work independently while remaining a team player, and capable of bringing potential scenarios and solutions to the table for group evaluation and scenario studies. The experience and skill-set of the candidate is to include the following:

Essential Duties and Job Functions:

An effective communicator, oral and written, with good data management, report preparation and data analysis skills to explain complex scheduling issues in a clear manner.
Knowledge of proper construction sequencing, activity duration and activity production rates
Works with the operations team throughout the commissioning and validation process in reviewing plans and specifications.
Ability to review schedule updates in order to evaluate progress of the work, determine acceptability of any schedule revisions, and evaluate critical path status and changes. Author detailed reports analyzing and evaluating these updates.
Ability to review contract drawings and specifications to evaluate construction related technical issues
Familiarity with project management and be able to read and interpret construction related drawings for all disciplines
Ability to review Contractor-submitted Baseline Schedules for conformance with contractual requirements and overall best scheduling practices.
Continual analysis of the critical path activities.
Evaluate project progress schedule and performance; to identify the problem areas and recommends changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling of projects.

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:

10+ years Pharmaceutical / Biotech work experience in project controls planning and scheduling is preferred
At least 5 years of experience on a project job-site as a construction planner, preferably with at least one assignment as a commissioning planner, shutdown outage planner or maintenance planner
Career experience must come out of the GMP industry, including exposure to major process engineering projects
Fully conversant with P6 with a minimum of 6 years Primavera related experience
Proven data management skills
Able to carry out document research in a logical, structured manner
This is not a management position; this is a position for a hands-on specialist
Able to interface with owner, contractor, and construction team personnel in the validation of evidence (background data)
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, and scheduling tools and techniques
