  Job Description:            
    Provide full project planning services across all phases of the program. The program consists of a number of technology and data center type projects executed as a program.The Sr. Scheduler will be expected to understand and contribute to synergies across the full portfolio of work. Primary responsibility is to prepare and manage the master integrated schedule to an agreed WBS with key responsibilities for each section prepared. Major phases of the work is expected to include; Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, Start-up, including operational start up requirements. Capable of working independently from a scheduling perspective, but also participate and heavily contribute to the local project team environment. Interpret General Contractor Schedule and create summary Level 1 Schedules to report to management and stakeholders. Lead and clearly communicate the planning deliverables from conception through to successful completion and close-out. Requires a proven capability in all facets of planning including performing schedule risk analysis and critical path network assessment. Required to provide quality assurance of external partner schedules and ensure these are compiled to the expected quality and detail. High skill level in project management techniques including earned value processes, progress measurement / analysis and productivity determination.Key Responsibilities:The primary role of the Sr. Scheduler is to provide overall master planning services to the current portfolio of projects. The specific activities that will be undertaken to achieve this are as follows:

Understanding and adherence to PMO scheduling procedures and best practices. This would include ensuring that GC schedules also conform to these requirements.
Managing the project specific WBS responsibility for the program ensuring that responsibility and ownership of each section is clear.
Manage the fully integrated project schedule and create Level 1 summary schedules for management and key stakeholders
Challenge external schedules to ensure they comply to good scheduling practices, represent the full scope of work and that the logic is correct and inclusive.
Ensure all GC issues Basis of Schedule/Assumptions documents in a comprehensive fashion alongside their timely submitted schedules.
Prepare Owner Basis of Schedule/Assumption document to support Level 1 Management schedules of each project.
Ensure these schedules are clearly communicated including monthly update issues and concerns.
Ensure all project schedule(s) are prepared to good scheduling practices conforming to Critical Path methodology techniques and identify primary, secondary and tertiary Critical Paths.
Ensure project schedules are inclusive of all scope and identifies all key milestones and timelines for both client and own schedules
Ensure schedule adheres to the Project Execution Plan and in particular contracting, procurement and project control strategy documents and plans.
Identify conflicting concurrent activities which may impact on the overall project completion dates and key milestones.
Provide progress reporting on a weekly or monthly basis as determined by the PM and Project Controls Plan. Ensuring work status, highlights, items impacting critical path, cost overruns and activities behind schedule are clearly understood and communicated where necessary. Identify trends that reduce the chance of successful execution timelines.
Run as needed ?what if? scenarios.
Ensure there is clear method in place for baselining of schedules and managing periodic updates.
Ensure that approved changes are incorporated into the schedule at the correct detail.
Prepare ?help? documents on a regular agreed periodic basis to responsible personnel to support their success in completing the schedule effort.
Provide schedule sensitivity analysis, where deemed beneficial or/and stipulated within the Project Controls Plan or procedures.
Provide input to the development of the design, procurement and construction activities and schedules in particular where these are under the responsibility of external parties.
Develop, review and maintain detailed project schedule deliverables required to support stage gate decisions.
Requirements

Expert knowledge of Primavera planning software.
Use of MS Office suite of programs.
Experience in Risk Assessments software, Primavera Risk Analyser or @Risk Project Module
Qualifications / Experience

Degree qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or recognized technical subject, Construction Management or other construction orientated subject. 10 to 15 years minimum experience in planning and scheduling across a number of major industrial capital expenditure projects in a heavy technical industry, e.g. Oil and Gas, Pharmaceuticals, Major Infrastructure / Commercial. Preferably at least one role at senior level with full responsibility for management of a significant schedule. Demonstrate experience and expertise in the use of Primavera P6 software tools. Able to apply Critical Path Methodology techniques to develop detail networks and schedules. Demonstrate experience in Risk Assessments with the ability to interpret and communicate findings to Project Management and Client teams as well as Contractor partners.
