Title

Project Manager, Project Scheduling and Controls for West Point Technical Services Run the Business and Process Engineering projects

Introduction/Background

The Technical Services Process Engineering group leads and executes projects including technical transfers, process and equipment changes for the commercial vaccine manufacturing facilities at West Point, PA. The project manager will be responsible for the development of project schedules, tracking task completion, monitoring the critical path, and escalating risks for multiple projects. The project manager will take direction from the project leads and need to engage with stakeholders to develop and monitor the project execution against the schedule. In addition to projects, the project manager may also develop and track schedules associated with vaccine manufacturing shutdown periods which require coordination of multiple workstreams for run the business work.

Scope of Work

The primary type of project management services involve:
1) Develop work break down structure for project deliverables with team input.
2) Develop Microsoft project schedules with appropriate schedule logic to establish project timelines
3) Communicate schedule assumptions and risks to the team.
4) Track completion of tasks and adjust schedule to accommodate project changes and shifts in timelines.
5) Project manager may also develop and maintain project risk logs.


Period of Performance

This work is ongoing.

Place of Performance

Project management work is required to be performed on-site to ensure face to face time with project leads and stakeholders. It is preferred but not required that the project manager access the GMP areas where the project is taking place to develop an understanding of the project work.

Work Requirements

Tasks described in scope of work require advance understanding of Microsoft Project software, process engineering change control, and process qualification requirements. Personnel required to become familiar with and follow all Site safety procedures and area access procedures to perform tasks.


Acceptance Criteria

The following information will be utilized to monitor performance of activities outlined in the Work Requirements section above.

Ability to develop and maintain schedules with project team direction.
Meet communicated timelines for project schedule development.
Deliver schedule reports inclusive of critical path and task lists for the team.
Accuracy of project schedule in establishing timelines.
Use of inclusive behaviors to facilitate collaboration and develop schedules.
Positive feedback from West Point customers

Educational Requirements:
B.S Degree in Engineering or related discipline and/or equivalent related experience.

Experience Requirements:
5+ years or more of relevant scheduling/project controls and project management experience is preferred.
Experience working in a biologics or pharmaceutical environment is preferred.
Knowledgeable of cGMP and Process Engineering preferred.
