The Spear Group is seeking to employ a Director of Business Development. The candidate that is selected will have experience selling project management, project controls, program management, construction management, Engineering, Professional Services, MSP/staff augmentation and/or owner?s rep services

Responsibilities/Job Description:
Leverage personal network to develop Project Controls, Project Management, Program Management, Construction Management, and Engineering business with prospective strategic customers and penetration and retention of existing customers
Possess a proven ability to develop business, build relationships, network, and communicate both orally and in writing
Demonstrate a strong internal/external customer focus and personal leadership, and solid negotiation and presentation skills
Collaborate effectively with all levels of management
Develop RFP/RFI leads with potential clients
Manage the RFP/RFI process, by establishing a schedule, providing clear communication to team members and oversee the submission process to meet deadlines and adhere to requirements
Develop MSP leads with potential new clients
Adhere to the sales metrics and thresholds

Qualifications:
A minimum 10 years? experience in a business development role in experience selling project management, project controls, program management, construction management and/or owner?s rep services
Background in both the Vertical and Horizontal markets
Network and contacts at the senior level of relevant organizations
Relationships at the staff and senior decision-making level
Project Management role and 5 years? experience in Business Development with a Construction Management as Agent or professional services firm within the construction industry
Candidate must have a BA, BS or BAE, preferably in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management
This role will require someone who has consistently generated $2-3 Million in annual revenue for their prior firm
Familiarity with the local and national marketplace, including knowledge of local and national firms (competitors and complements), as well as an extensive database of clients contacts are essential
Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
Writing, computer, and presentation skills at an exceptional level
Driven to succeed ? solutions oriented.
Excellent verbal/written communications and interpersonal skills.
Intermediate proficiency in: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Web-based graphical user interface
