Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Project Controls team in south Florida. JOB DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES: - Ability to develop detailed cost estimates for various types of building and infrastructure projects - Strong understanding of construction cost trends in south Florida. - Specific experience in developing cost estimates from planning/schematics through construction phases - Thorough knowledge of all building systems (architectural, structural and MEP) - Work with various team members, Owners and project managers in managing project budgets through design and construction. - Work involves research, coordination and analysis of information gathered from various sources. - Communication with project managers, Owners and other stakeholders with regards to the project budget and cost estimating issues and possible solutions. - Knowledge of quantity take off software such as On-Screen a must. - Ability to support business development in identifying and pursuing new cost estimating project opportunities - Ability to communicate, participate in management meetings, provide recommendations. - Experience in managing cost estimating staff and ensure project deadlines are met with quality work - Basic knowledge of financial management of projects (e.g. fee proposals, invoicing, project forecasting, etc.) EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: - BS in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management - Minimum experience of five (5) years in detailed cost estimating for various project types including buildings (office, school, fire stations, etc), roadways, civil/infrastructure projects etc. - Experience with development and review of construction scheduling including working knowledge of Primavera is a plus. - Ability to develop reliable project budgets at concept stages of projects - Excellent communication skills and flexibility to work on multiple on-going assignments - Project and Client Management experience a must. - Cost Estimating certifications such as CEP, CCC are a plus - Team player with commitment to quality and timely work deliverables Atkins offers its employees a robust rewards package which includes: a competitive salary; a broad benefits package including medical/RX, dental, vision, life, disability, legal, hospitalization and other valuable voluntary options; generous time-off programs; flexible work schedules; 401(k) with employer match; professional and career development opportunities through our corporate university, as well as a highly-regarded tuition reimbursement program; and an unmatched culture focused on client-service, quality, and tireless pursuit of excellence in all we do.
