We have an immediate need for a scheduler that will join an existing team in an office environment. The position/company is located in downtown Los Angeles. There is NO relocation dollars and preference given to local talent. This is a long term assignment.
The PC Scheduler shall plan, coordinate, schedule, forecast, monitor and provide progress performance reports for all project scheduling functions as they relate to; development of a baseline, project resources, forecast estimate, track and document change management, identifying project risks and mitigation resolutions, earned value measurement and support and track project commitments.
The Project Controls (PC) Scheduler Analyst shall provide critical support to Project Management Organization (PMO), Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Team for projects up to $100M
SKILLS / COMPETENCIES:
- Requires knowledge and experience of Project Management principles and Project Control Cycles.
- Must possess capability to report on all levels of project schedules, quality, monitor project progress, risk and ensure project milestones are met.
- Requires ability to identify the project risks as well as develop mitigation measures to the Project Management team.
- Understanding of critical path method (CPM) scheduling techniques and principles, including ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects concurrently
- Support overlapping project scheduling tasks, issue management, meeting facilitation, document control and monthly status reporting to the Project Management Team.
- Must be able to prepare written communications on technical and non-technical matters for various levels of management.
- Must be capable of reporting earned value performance measurement techniques.
- Must be able to report BAC, CPI, EV, EAC SV, SPI, Earned value, cash flow and manpower reports.
- Must be proficient in Primavera 6 (P6) project control systems
- Experience in preparing schedules for natural gas pipeline projects is preferred.
DEGREES / CERTIFICATION / LICENSE / EXPERIENCE
- Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management or another relevant discipline.
- 4+ years of relevant Project Controls experience on large-scale construction projects. Experience in the natural gas utility is highly desirable.
- Certification as a PMP is highly desirable
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word software
- Understand industry and safety standards
- Computer skills in scheduling, cost software and Microsoft Office is require
