| The Middlesex Corporation is a leader in road, bridge and marine construction throughout the Northeast United States and Florida. We are able to respond to customer demand with high-quality products and service. We are seeking to add an Estimator to our team who works closely with other members of the Estimating Department Team to support the pre-construction phase, perform bid, proposal and budget preparation, assist with value engineering for ongoing projects and support subcontractor/vendor relations. This position will report to our Florida Region (Orlando) Office.
Responsibilities Our ideal candidate will ? Work as integral part of our Estimating team to perform plan and specification analysis, takeoff and pricing of road, bridge, marine and other heavy/civil projects with values from $5 million to $400 million ? Work with subcontractors and vendors to define scope, and perform subcontractor and vendor analysis ? Assist with all Estimating functions for Lump Sum, Design/Build and Unit Price projects ? Assist with the budgeting, purchasing and cost functions Qualifications ? Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or construction-related field ? Minimum 2 years of field construction experience ? Minimum of 2 years as a full-time Road/Bridge/Marine estimator ? Excellent computer skills ? Experience with Heavy-bid estimating software ?
