MECHANICAL PLANNER ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The main responsibilities of the Sr. Mechanical Planner are to identify all materials and resources required to complete all activities of the TAR. The Sr. Mechanical Planner is responsible for developing the Turnaround Scope (TAS) and interfacing with Project Controls, Progress, Scheduling, Cost, and field Construction forces. Direct, coordinate and manage the Turnaround field resources necessary to execute the Turnaround in accordance with the Turnaround mission and vision statements as well as all other Turnaround objectives and critical success factors. More specifically; the Sr. TAR Mechanical Planner will coordinate the activities of all the principles associated with the TAR, work with the TAR Core Team members to identify the critical path work, develop manhour, cost, and duration estimates.
BASIC JOB FUNCTIONS
Ensure 100 percent safety compliance during all stages of Turnaround activities.
Participate in the development of Turnaround Safety Execution plan.
Provide construction coordination and communication between plant Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and Reliability.
Ensure that effective Turnaround management systems, tools, procedures (Job Instructions), process, and constructability reviews are in place and utilized consistently.
Participate and/or ensure construction input into value engineering process.
Support the scope development process and assist with assembly of Turnaround bid packages.
Estimate labor, equipment, and material resources to support development of job plans.
Assist with development of the Turnaround Execution plan.
Coordinate Capital Projects activities with Turnaround activities for schedule development.
Ensure that Client?s safety, design, maintenance and operation philosophies are consistently followed during the Turnaround.
